OUTDOOR SEASON 2023
The AMBUSC mission has always been to provide appropriate programs for all ages including our Youth group from U9 DOB 2014 to U18 DOB 2005. We were able to bring our full program back last year as Covid restrictions were lifted and it was really like starting over. We got off to a great restart last season and are excited to build on that and get even better this year and beyond. Training will start at the beginning of May or as soon as we can get on the fields. The goal is to get as much practice as possible so our players are prepared before regular season youth matches are scheduled to start the week of May 22 (dates are subject to change).
Whenever possible, based on registration and skill level of players, we would like to offer Recreational and Competitive team options. If that is the case we will conduct sort out/assessment sessions once registration is complete to determine what teams to invite players to join. Invitations to join teams will be sent to parents by email and based on responses we will enter teams in appropriate leagues accordingly.

Ontario Soccer has developed a Long Term Player Development program that guides clubs how to train players at each age. The Youth Program is designed to develop a greater understanding of basic rules, tactics, and strategy in games with continued refinement of soccer specific skills. Competitions will focus on skill development and maximizing the player experience and training will include games and activities that are inclusive, fun and skill based with the goal of keeping players engaged so they want to continue playing for years to come.
Our Youth teams practice and play home games at Dochart Park and away game locations are dependent on what teams other clubs register in each division. Whenever possible, divisions are grouped based on geographic location to minimize travel. Historically we have played away games against clubs in places like West Carleton, Almonte, Carleton Place, Perth, Smiths Falls with the possibility of matches against clubs located in West Ottawa and on some occasions Ottawa and the surrounding area. Typically, younger age groups do not travel as far and as players get older the distance to away games may increase. We aim to provide opportunities for everyone to play and support player, team and club development for all youth in our community allowing for mental, physical, social and leadership development through the beautiful game of soccer. Fun, fair play and participation are key.
In order for this great program to run, we need the help of a number of volunteers so our children can participate and play. We are looking for co-coaches (2 per team is ideal). Anyone with an interest in soccer is welcome regardless of experience: parents or students that may need volunteer hours. This year we are looking into providing Coaching Certification and Training courses in the spring and we will have a coaches training day before the season starts with our Club Head Coach.
